For Christmas our gift to the boys and ourselves was a family vacation, a first for us. We decided the boys were old enough to go to Disneyland, WAHOOO!! I've been wanting to go back forever, the last time I went was on the California trip in 8th grade and that was true for Tim also. I was so excited for this trip to see the boys' little faces just light up when they saw Mickey, and Minnie, and Goofy, and all of the other characters. This was their first time on an airplane too and they did FANTASTIC!! Kyler slept, and Bowen just read some books and played with trains and looked out the window at the world below.

Our favorite ride was Pirates of the Caribbean, we rode it at least 4 times while we were there. They did not like The Haunted Mansion. It was so fun, Kyler was able to ride nearly all the rides with us, and they were so well behaved for the most part. We didn't experience one meltdown at Disneyland, it really must be the happiest place on earth!!
If you didn't know I am a HUGE Ellen DeGegeneres fan, and I have been wanting to go to a taping of her show for the longest time! Little did I know Tim had connections to get us tickets. One of his coworkers is cousins to Andy's wife {yes the guy who wears the short shorts, and always brings things out to Ellen}. So he kept it a secret and for Christmas I had a gift beneath the tree all wrapped in"Ellen" paper, and there were the tickets, EEEEEK!!! I was very excited to say the least! We even got VIP tickets! My man is the BEST!

Unfortunately that was the only picture I got of my Ellen experience, you weren't allowed to take cameras past a certain point. I did get my Ellen hoodie as a souvenir. The show was great!
Another great part of our vacation was getting to spend a whole weekend with my dad. After spending the week in Anaheim we drove to California City. It was so good to get to spend time with him. We just enjoyed each other's company, we ate yummy meals prepared by my dad, watched movies, laughed so hard I cried, and even watched some old home movies.

Always hard to say goodbye though :(
The last part of our trip was spent at Seal Beach. We were on our way to the airport to come home and realized we had some time to kill. So we were excited to get to take the boys to see the ocean for the first time.

Since we were on our way to the airport we were dressed like we were going back home, probably the only ones at the beach in pants. Oh well we rolled up our pants and had the boys put their feet in the ocean, BBBRRRR! It was cold! They absolutely loved it though. Bowen's favorite part was watching the surfers.

We had so much fun and look forward to many more vacations with our boys.
